SUMMARY:RAC-CT Certification Virtual Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Increase your knowledge of clinical assessment and care planning\, completion of the MDS\, the regulations surrounding the RAI/MDS process\, and managing the PDPM by attending an AAPACN Resident Assessment Coordinator—Certified (RAC-CT®) certification workshop. Having the RAC-CT credential behind your name shows you are a knowledgeable and capable MDS professional. RAC-CT certification is the nationally recognized gold-standard in resident assessment in the long-term care nursing profession. By earning this credential\, individuals have shown their expertise in skilled nursing facility prospective payment system and minimum data set (MDS 3.0) assessment. \nThe RAC-CT certification program consists of 10 education courses designed for post-acute care professionals with at least six months of experience with the MDS/RAI process. If you have less than six months of experience\, consider taking MDS Essentials as a foundation to get you started and make sure you’re prepared to succeed in the RAC-CT program. To earn the RAC-CT credential\, you must successfully complete the associated final certification exams with a score of 80% or higher. You will have one year from the date of the workshop before they expire. There are three exam attempts per course. Recertification is required every two years. \nPLEASE NOTE: The instructor will be on camera throughout the workshop. Participant cameras are optional but highly encouraged when possible\, as having cameras on helps foster engagement\, interaction\, and a more collaborative learning experience. \n*This workshop is geared towards those who are not yet RAC-CT certified. \nYour registration includes three days of virtual instruction from a Master Teacher\, access to digital workshop materials\, and access to the 10 certification exams. We suggest downloading and saving each PDF to a device of your choice. Although not required\, you may print the PDFs at your own expense. She has been a licensed nursing home administrator since 1993 and has successfully led facilities to improved effectiveness and quality-driven performance. Under her leadership\, two facilities were the first in the state to receive the Alabama Performance Excellence (ALPEX) levels I and II recognition. She has worked with the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) since its national implementation in 1991 and led facilities through the numerous iterations of the Minimum Data Set. Utilizing an interdisciplinary team (IDT) approach\, Donna makes the RAI education process a cornerstone for improved resident care and skilled nursing center processes. She currently serves as the Vice President of Operations for Post-Acute Skilled Nursing Centers at Turenne & Associates\, LLC. She is also a Research and Development Consultant for The Compliance Store\, an enterprise compliance platform for long-term healthcare professionals. She has been a master teacher credentialed\, RAC-MT\, through the American Association of Post-acute Care Nurses since 2020. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Alabama in 1988.
